A Combination resource-dump, workshop, and virtual commonplace book all rolled into one.
"Why," indeed. You can't make this a serious project, and even for a civilization as addicted to irony as our current one a tongue-in-cheek homage may be a few steps too far, and one certainly couldn't make it worse without making it professionally or expertly worse, which would be strictly an exercise in cynicism, and could never hope to be as entertaining as Wood's labor of love.
@Bigby's Left Hand: Honestly, I thought it was a bad joke at first, then it turned out to be real. You really hit the nail on the head--this isn't one of those movies that needs to be remade. Something new that's just as daft and weird/offbeat as Plan 9 would be okay, but it would be more fun if it was something NEW and not just a retread of what we already have...this is not my idea of a good retroclone project...
I guess it's like Shatner's two albums: First one = great, because he was dead serious and so that made it funny as hell; Second one = eh, because by then he was in on the joke.Ah, well. Maybe if they did it in LEGOs. . .
